Wilson
Wilson Columbus Circle Store
Columbus Circle, New York

Wilson’s second retail location landed in a long-term temporary space inherited from Cole Haan. The brief was to build something that read as Wilson’s evolving aesthetic without discarding a century of heritage. The catch was the lease. A temporary footprint doesn’t justify a permanent budget, which meant most of the existing build-out had to stay, while feeling like a whole new store.
The answer came from Wilson’s own material library. We wrapped the structure of the inherited fixtures in Wilson’s baseball glove leather, and clad new wood storage platforms in their embossed basketball leather. Product materials, used at architectural scale.
Elsewhere the strategy was surgical. Glass shelving swapped for Wilson’s white oak, the existing cashwrap re-clad, and Cole Haan’s pipe-and-drape fitting rooms replaced with framed walls.
